Just before the show
Since a few years back I’ve had atmosphere’s for Vue for sale at Renderosity, and they still sell on occasion even if the sales dropped a bit since Eon tend to make a lot of changes to how Vue works in their updates. And there’s been a couple of new versions of Vue since I first posted my sky packs in the marketplace.
But as I said, on occasion I get a few sales here and there still. And the money rarely leave Renderosity. Most of the time I use it as an in-store credit and buy stuff from other vendors in the same store, which is what I did yesterday. Sundays bore me to no end and I knew I had some credit to spend, and I’ve saved up for some dynamic dresses that I wanted to buy.
Dynamic clothing is not easy to explain unless you know a bit about 3D, but the end result really doesn’t need much of an explanation.
Most clothing for all the characters in Poser are conforming, which means that you can “glue” them to the character and later change the pose and the clothes will stay on. Otherwise the clothes will remain in the same pose they were when you loaded them to the scene.
Unfortunately, confirming clothes have their limits when it comes to both fit and movements, and skirts can look as if they were made out of cardboard instead of soft fabric once you posed the character. Or the model simply breaks because the skirt or dress won’t expand any further.
Dynamic clothes will follow the shape of the body in a different way, just like clothes do in real life. The dress I used above is dynamic and a part of the pack I bought yesterday. When you fit any dynamic clothing you get a lot of extra dials and can decide how the fabric should drape, how heavy the fabric should be (velvet is and looks more heavy than silk for example), you can set the resistance and how elastic the model should be etc. etc. There’s a whole long list of thing.
I’m not even going to try to explain how to fit dynamic clothing in the Cloth Room in Poser, but lets say that if the model is good and well done, it’s really fun to do and the result can be stunning. The dress I used on this character when I made the Jessica Rabbit render was also dynamic, otherwise it would have been almost impossible to fit since her body is very far from reality and what most conforming clothes can handle. Unless, of course, they’re made especially for that character.
I’ve just opened that window painting in Photoshop and will continue to paint the only remaining window pane that is left to do today. Then I’ll post it again :)
The render above is another of my Jessica Rabbit renders btw. She’s peeking out through the curtain to check the audience of the upcoming evening :p
And I will be back laters :D
Again.
My Jessica Rabbit
For a change I’ve been playing with Poser for a while tonight AND actually made a render :p Most of the time these days I end up fiddling too much and just never get as far as to render anything, but tonight I’ve made an exception. So I thought I would post it.
This is the Poser version of Jessica Rabbit. Or my version anyway :p It’s a bit weird because the character I’ve used is as far from reality you could come, and still she’s more “real” than the original Jessica Rabbit from the movie. So I guess you could say that this is the artificial reality version of the cartoon character :pp
I won’t bored you with that bit though. It’s way too late for that and I will get lost in the jungle of my languages :p
Some technical notes about this render:
There’s a lot of post work done in Photoshop btw. The dress is dynamic and broke a bit when I animated it. This set of dynamic dresses are great and really beautiful, but you have to pin them at the shoulders or the front will simply fall down :p And when you pin polygons they won’t be a part of the dynamic changes the rest of the dress is going through, which means that it can stretch too much in certain places and eventually break. And that’s what happened here.
So I had to mend it in Photoshop a bit around the shoulders.
The glow in the image itself is also Photoshop, just as the color of the dress and the rest of the image.
And that’s it folks :)
I will be back tomorrow and most likely continue my painting. Today’s been too much running around.
Miracles in 3D & bad wardrobe malfunctions :p
Robin made this render a bit earlier tonight, and I wanted to make my own version of it. The one that shows what would probably happen if anyone dressed like that would make that kinda jump outside Poser :p
You see this a lot in 3D. Woman dressed in clothes that physically cannot stay in place and then it doesn’t matter if they under more normal circumstances need tripple E cups :p Somehow, that tiny bra or top will always stay in place.
Well, in my world it doesn’t :p In my world, strapless bras would get smashed and fall to the floor. Even with superglue and duct tape a pose like this one would twist something out of place, that’s for sure :pp While I twisted this bra into submission I had a feeling that in reality it would be even worse, but since nipples are such a huge no-no online (unless you have to pay to see them of course), I decided not to. So you will have to imagine reality instead. Even now :p
The digital world allow us to do a lot of these things that would be physically impossible in reality. Heck, an entire generation already grew up with this stuff.
So, in 3D we can make miracle bras that actually ARE a miracle, while in reality women just keep getting skinnier.
What a crazy world.
Now duck, coz what goes up needs to come down…eventually :p
A “regular” elf
This is more of the kinda elves I’m not particular happy about….the “regular” kind.
Same character as the “Gothic Elf” I posted earlier today, but with different textures :)
She was suppose to be light blonde…but instead she turned out grey :p
Oh well…

Now it’s time to play a game of some kind :D
Gothic Elves
First of all I have to say that I’m not much for fairies or elves. Somehow they are a bit too nice for my taste. This elf is more my melody – a Goth Elf :p And since Halloween is around the corner she will fit in perfectly.
Poser hates me just as much as I hate it today btw :p I decided to leave Vue behind for today, so instead I’ve watched how my computer kept running out of memory…haha And it really shouldn’t. I’ve got more than enough resources for Poser, but I guess there’s not enough resources for me. I keep pushing the boundaries a bit too much, me thinks.
So I can’t tell you how many times I rendered this dark Missy before it was finally done. And without actually crashing Poser :p
And for those of you who doesn’t have a clue what I’m talking about – Poser is a 3D character/figure application.
Robin rendered this elf as well the other day. Can be found here.
There’s a much bigger version of this render if you click the image in this post btw.
Hope your Saturday is a good one :D
