Busy week and some family photo’s
It’s been a busy week and I barely had time to do anything but sleep, eat and work. Actually, I keep forgetting to eat so I guess it’s been sleep and work :pp And that also means that I haven’t had a lot of time to update this blog…which doesn’t mean that I forgotten about it.
Thought I’d make up for it and post some photo’s of my grandson since last week. He was having a snack and his mom took some photo’s of him. I think he was watching TV at the same time too, but I’m not sure. It’s just that it looks like he’s got his attention elsewhere in some of the photo’s :p
His mom wrote that he really needs a haircut and that some people think he’s a girl because of the length of his hair…heh I can imagine that my son is going slightly crazy over that…if he knows…:pp He’s so silly about the whole boy/girl thing and somehow I thought I taught him better than that. It all sounds like it’s an attitude he picked up from his dad, who is nothing but a scared dork.
But anyway…Alexander is cute no matter the hairstyle and it looks like he’s getting his dad’s curls, which might be a good reason to keep the hair short :p It’s rather painful when you bring out the hairbrush or the comb when the hair gets too long and have curls.
And there are still teeth poppin’ up now and then. The last time I read about it he had 10 of them. Alexander that is…not his dad :pp His dad have more teeth than that I hope…hehe
This little gentleman will be 2 years old in March next year and then there’s only a few more years before he’ll graduate high school…hehe Well, it won’t happen next year or the year after that, but the older I get the faster time seems to pass.
And above is a recent photo of Alexander’s parents….which is my son and his partner :) Peter look so different when he’s taking off his glasses, but as Helene said in her reply when I asked why he’d took them off, the flash reflects in the lenses and you can’t see what’s on the photo :pp
Helene dyed her hair red btw. She’s naturally blond otherwise :)
Well, it’s time to get ready and take a ride into town. We need coffee and even if it means going to Tesco on a Saturday just to get coffee I rather do that since otherwise I’ll end up with a horrible headache :p At least a visit at Tesco will pass after a little while AND we will have more beans :D
I haven’t really painted anything during this week since I’ve been busy with work, but I might do something creative during the weekend, we’ll see. Or I might just continue to work :p I’m alone and unsupervised all day tomorrow so you never know what I might do :p
Hope all of you are having a great weekend :D
Mirror Mirror on the Wall
My grandson was playing in front of the mirror when his mom took the photo’s above…heh Looks like he found himself a cute friend in that reflective surface ;)
It’s Bank Holiday Monday here and I’m bored. Want to go somewhere…anywhere but here would do just fine…but neither of us can think of any place to go, that’s the problem. Outdoors it’s kinda cold today and the sunshine we had this morning is hiding behind a very grey sky. I’m sure there’s a market in town today, but I usually end up buying stuff neither of us need, and shopping is not really my thing anyway. I might drag Robin into town anyway, but I haven’t decided just yet.
Last night when I posted the last time I completely forgot that we had a bank holiday today, so I was in the mindset of having a regular work day. Then Robin came home and pointed out that it’s a long weekend.
Anyway…we’ll see what happens. I hope you guys will have a nice day no matter where you are and what you’re doing in any case :) I might be back laters in here :)
Little green men and Macaroons
My grandson is 17 months old today and since the weather’s been wet he tried his new rain gear. It’s green and a bit too big, but it doesn’t matter much when it comes to that kind of clothes. In the photo here he’s also wearing his new shoes and a big smile…heh I think he’s got a problem with the view as it seems…:p
We spent most part of this afternoon in Chesterfield today. Had to refill the fridge, pick up a pair of what I thought was mechanical wrist watches…and then we had lunch at The Hobby Horse :) So it’s been a nice Saturday overall :) It was sunny when we left, but later it started to rain again, like it done pretty much all darn summer now.
However, it doesn’t matter much when you don’t have to go out. I hoped that we could go for a tour around the market today in town itself, but since it was very cloudy and rainy we decided against that.
Tonight I’m planning on making Macaroons for the very first time in my life :) It’s that darn sweet tooth that is taking over again…hehe Anything with meringue usually doesn’t work very well with my oven here, so we’ll see how it goes. I will make a test first to find the right temperature etc. And to see if it works at all. Then I might make a big batch of them :)
Hope your weekend is a good one and that it’s not too wet for ya :)
The art of cutlery
We had a very rainy morning here and I woke up at 4AM from the water literally hammering on the roof. When I tried to go back to sleep again, I kept dreaming about being chased by big rats :p So by 5 I gave up. And right now it’s still trying to rain, it’s muggy and I soooo want a good thunderstorm. If any of you have any thunder left over, send it in this direction.
Someone who’s not giving up is Alexander. He’s learning how to eat all by himself as you can see in the photo in this post, and it means that dinner and lunch ends up everywhere…heh But it takes a bit of a mess for them to learn. And it seems that he’s a bit like his dad was in that age – picky about what he’s eating.
I’m trying to have some more coffee to stay awake here today, but for some stupid reason the mug won’t follow me all the way from the kitchen to the desk :p It vanished into that black hole called the micro earlier and spent about half an hour all on it’s own in there before I remembered where it was. And right now it’s standing on the kitchen table :pp By the time I’ve got it here on the desk the coffee will be cold again :p Hopeless.
Well, it’s time to do the draw and see who won that print. I probably should have allowed some more time before I did that draw, but oh well. Next time :)
Will be back with the news of the winner in a bit :)
Playdate
Thought I’d gather some photo’s of my grandson from the week that’s been. He’s been on a playdate, he had his 10th tooth and he’s got more energy than all the grown-ups he’s surrounded with have together :pp His mom was trying to do some art on the computer the other day while Alexander was still awake, but that ended the way you can see in the last two photo’s :p As soon as she sat down at the computer he did everything he could to get her attention, and when he did, he didn’t want it…hehe Typical :p
It was pretty much the same with my son (and Alexander’s dad) when he was in that age. And when he was 3 years old he managed to get a canvas filled with wet oil paint off the easel, move it into the bedroom and put it down on the bed – with the canvas and wet paint facing down on the bedspread :p He’s never been that close to death before or after that…haha
Guess it’s needless to tell you that the bedspread was ruined and both that and the canvas went in the trash.
Anyway…yesterday I spent all day in Dreamweaver, putting together a layout. It’s not ready yet, but there’s no panic so I’m taking it easy. No one’s gonna do it for me, and I work best under pressure any way. It’s cloudy/sunny/rainy/windy today. And muggy. We need some thunder again.
I spent the night staring in the ceiling when I didn’t toss and turn. For some silly reason I keep forgetting that there’s a pair of pants (trousers if you’re in England) that I simply cannot wear, and I should have thrown them away a long time ago. But somehow I always forget. And I hate throwing out clothes that fits and that are in a good condition.
But this time they will have to go.
The problem is my skin. I’ve got hypersensitive skin because of the Neuropathic pain and the wrong kind of friction (not sure if there’s any right kind of friction, but anyway…) will set my skin on fire. Or so it feels. The bed sheets feels as if they were made out of sandpaper and it’s really painful, which makes sleep almost impossible.
Although, this time it’s been limited to the back of my right thigh, but now I’ve got about 2-3 weeks of this to look forward to. Yippiii! :p
Those pants ARE going in the trash this time. Can’t for the life of me understand why this is so difficult to remember. Most people tend to remember pain even if they can’t remember anything else, but I guess it passed me by since I’m always dealing with pain somewhere on my body on a daily basis.
But…that’s life sometimes.
Now I need to continue my day here. Hope your Friday is a great one :D
