I’m painting eyes. And so far one of them is almost done :)
It’s fiddly since the reflection in them and the light make them look almost bottomless.

So far I’ve got 6 layers only for the iris and another 2 layers for the eye whites. And then there’s 1 layer for the upper eyelashes and the area right below the eyes and above the lower lashes. The lower lashes will be among the last details I add since they are so thin. By the time I’m done with her hair, I’ve got the right “touch” to do those :p

The right eye is not completely done yet. The iris is almost ready, but the eye white is not. I’ve added some eyelashes to that eye as well, but that’s about it.

The sketch is almost entirely gone from the left eye by now, but still visible on the right side. I remove the sketch as the painting is taking shape.

But now it’s time to put this away and relax for a bit. Almost bedtime here and they are showing Michael Jackson’s last days all over again on TV. In other words, they’re running a bunch of gossip interviews :pp
