No credit rating – no credit
Since Robin bought his netbook using birthday cash, I figured I would get myself a better tablet from Wacom, either using the leasing opportunity that PC World is offering for businesses, or their buy-now-pay-in-6-month option.
And I could have picked either one of those if it wasn’t for the fact that I’m not showing up on the credit radar anywhere. It’s really silly because I’ve got no debts, no loans, no overdrafts and all my accounts are on the positive side. But because I have neither of those…or I guess you could say, because I don’t like credit cards and because I don’t borrow money unless it’s absolutely necessary…I won’t get a credit. No credit rating is the same as if you were soaked in debts.
So when we came back home again I decided to ask the bank to send me an application for a credit card. Darn it. It will probably take a couple of years before my name is showing up on any credit checks, and I will be able to buy this tablet and probably another before I will be able to get any form of lease or credit anywhere.
It’s really stupid because you need to start somewhere, right?
The reason for the tablet is not that I need or want a new toy. My old tablet is becoming too unreliable and before I know it, it will stop working. They rarely die slowly. It’s always fast and painless. At least for the tablet :p
Other than that I’ve been a bit sluggish all day today and my throat hurts, but it’s not even close to being as bad as it was yesterday. Bought some more remedies today and I’m staying as warm as I can :) We never got any rain today and I’m not complaining :p
And I’ve got the Christmas presents ready both for my son and his partner :) It’s Alexander left…and Robin…although I think Robin already had his gifts for this year :p
Hope your day is/was a good one :) Now I’m going to paint for a bit ;)
